I'm not sure if a silent engine is a deal breaker or even a pro. Many people love hearing that roar when you floor it while merging onto the highway, and I can usually drown out the sound of a regular car without even trying anyway.

Then again, the i8 is probably double the price of the Model S anyway. You'd expect more out of it.

Would rather get a Tesla for everyday usage, plus a good highway car/SUV for long trips, then get an i8 to use for everything. It's just not that practical.
