Do Computers and cars have things in common?

to me i think that object whise they are mostly pretty similar.

they are both build inside a chassis and have components in them. the better and more expensive the faster and more power they have.

also they can be made for certain tasks such as:

extreme video editing= extreme 4x4

gaming= sports cars

there are also many more examples.

also both computers and cars dont run tip top if they are not checked and maintenanced correctly.

cooling is also a huge factor because both cant overheat.

i have a general love for both but would know mare about cars then computers.

what do you know more and do you think they are similar in some ways.

Well lets see here.

 

Cars and computers do seem to have something in common, we both can open them up and put fancier components in them, aftermarket components, some people like to benchmark both, some people give them fancy this and that. also they both sorta have mechanical numbers and whatnot, like how cars have BHP's and 0-60's and pounds feet of torque, PC's have Ghz's, Ram capacity, FPS, Write speeds and what not, so they do have something paralell?

 

also Tiny tom logan (the guy from OC3D) i think talked a little on how being a car engineer or something helped him out with PC's/PC Building. and i guess considering the similarities, the two would go hand in hand

 

Also people with 5960X gaming PC's can be compared to people who buy SUV's to ride around the city with, E Pen/Compensation and whatnot

They are both entirely customizable

Car: You can change the engine

PC: You can change the CPU

 

Car: You can use different rims

PC: Use different PSUs

 

That's why I both love them

Because I can make them both unique according to how I like it

Apparently some car manufacturer think they are the same and that cars should be covered by the DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) and have some work done on your car be classified as illegal because they argue that buying the car only buys the right to use their technology ...

Apparently some car manufacturer think they are the same and that cars should be covered by the DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) and have some work done on your car be classified as illegal because they argue that buying the car only buys the right to use their technology ...
