Like in topic guys. I dont know if my 980 ti really performing ok. I am playing on ultra details, hairworks on, 1920x1080 and sometimes ( at time 7:50 pm ) i get dips to even 37 fps. Screenshot below: Of course in game there are not much areas like here on screen, but i am little worried about this.

...hairworks on...

There's the bugger!

Hairworks is a resource hog in its current state. Turn it off and it'll give you dat dere FPS increase.

More FPS is more FPS. Even if it's not much, it's still an improvement.

He's asking  if it's 980ti is performing normally not what setting he should turn off.

To me it's not normal. You should make an ASIC test to see wether or not it's a bad unit and return it if it is.

How much AAA do you have on?

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

This is through all my 100+ hours of playing it like that lol, I only went down to 30's when my 980Ti wasn't boosting properly and stopped at like 530Mhz instead of around 1500Mhz, maybe make sure your GPU is boosing right? Check your gpuz

I bet you have a ridiculously high AA setting. hair works is a resource high, AA is even worse.

go into nvidia experience and let nvidia choose your game settings. youll get the best settings for highest frame rates but best visuals.

I check GPUZ and boost is 1060mhz - 1070mhz in game. So its ok man. So why i have 37 fps sometimes? Is my 980 ti not performing ok?

I am using defaults AA. In game AA and hairworks on.

Witcher 3 ULTRA in 1080p give me over 100fps Hairworks off. With Hairworks on its still in the mid 80´s.

I tweaked W3 very hard and with Vsync on i still have 60fps nailed.

Check with afterburner and GPU-Z what your card is doing. Temps, Clockspeed ectect.

37 fps, thats 100% not ok.

How does the ASIC quality result in a bad card?

Temps 83C, boost 1050-1070mhz, GPU LOAD 96-99%.

So i think its ok. But i am thinking why sometimes i get dips to 37 fps.

If you have a bad unit odds are that your ASIC quality will be below what a normal unit has which is a good way to quickly spot them.

So i think its ok. But i am thinking why sometimes i get dips to 37 fps.

if it's occasional dips for a split second it could be the game loading the next part of the world, or something in the distance taking a toll on everything.

like rust for example, at 4k beautiful (basically ultra) I get 60fps, until I load new parts of the world and then it will drop into the 30s, sometimes in the teens!

that's a game thing not a gpu issue.

turn off your fps counter and just enjoy the game!!

its probably your GPU's usage, check it, its probably making you hover low in clock speeds.. use msi after burner to check

That fps cant be good :/ I have an r9 270 (core @1115 mem @1515) and I am getting the same fps at everything ultra (hairworks off, motion blur off, blur off, vsync off and sharpening on low) Is it only at that time or also other times? If it is only at that time, what is your fps at other times?

You should nuke it on 1080p really. But you said it "dips" on 37 so whats your average fps? whats the max?
