Gaming Monitor under 300$?

Hey LTT.

My monitor is on its last leg, can you shoot me towards the best monitor for under 300$?

1. Under 300$ (Would really rather not 299$ either)
2. 1080p

I was looking at the Asus 144hz 24 inch gaming one, thoughts?

Great monitor, my dad has one and it's really nice. Too bad he only uses it for Excel and not gaming.

Is high refresh rate more important to you, or is IPS? (Good colour accuracy and viewing angles)

So long as its smooth I'm not sure it matters to me. I've never had a trueblooded "gaming" monitor. So whatever you think will give me the best experience. Running a 980.

a 144Hz 1080p monitor is perfect for a 980. Now I definitely recommend the ASUS monitor.

Are you playing CS:GO competitively? Cuz that's one of the few games were a high refresh monitor really matters. Even so you won't get the full benefit of 120/144hz without a monitor that has ULMB (Ultra low motion blur) technology such as the 27" Acer Predator.

For most games having a larger screen and higher resolution makes a bigger difference as you can see more detail. Examples include everything from GTA V to Witcher 3 to Fallout to Moba LoL and even Hearthstone.

I would really not spend 200-300 on a 1080p 24" monitor when you for 310 you can get that crossover 27" 1440p panel. Best off all that panel will overclock between 110-120 hz.
