It is a tie between my E8400 and my QX9650, but then again I haven't bought anything newer :lol:

My 3930k overclocks to 4.8ghz stable at only 1.36-1.37v

My Phenom II X6 1090T. I went from an Athlon 64 X2 to this thing (on the same crappy AM2+ board!)... wow!

I was able to overclock it to 4,2Ghz with a Hyper 212 EVO (with a better MB ofc)  ^_^

 

The FX-8350 was a good upgrade, but nothing compared to this chip back then.

Gotta say E8400 was great and lasted long. But s939 Athlon 64 will win that. Its still in use and works great. Lack of RAM limits machine thats in ;)

My first Pentium 3 was a beast, overclocked that thing to 550 mhz(from 300 mind you) got it stable for about a week then it burned and took my VGA/mobo/ram with it :D those were the days!!

Harr, darr and a couple of....... plastic earings?

2500K was my best buy, closely followed by the E8400 and an AMD 1090T. All great chips! 

Would love to get my hands on an E8400 again and overclock the nuts off it under water.

For intel it would be my old core 2 duo Wolfdale chip, as I cant get that damn thing to die, still running in my old backup system with an 8800GT, still kicking like the day I built it.

 

For AMD it would be the 1100T, Great chip that still rocks, have it stored in a small box for safe keeping, Ill use it one day for an "old school" pc build around 5 years or so down the line :P

My E8400 is still running, using it as a Minecraft and Starmade server :D

 

Overclocked to 4.0 Ghz for the first 4 years, got a better cooler on it now and running 4.2 :)

Over the years I've only owned Intels apart from my old Mac PowerPC 133mhz.

486 DX/2, Pentium 4, Xeon Nocona, Core2Duo E8400 and now i5-3570K.

 

I think my E8400 is borderline golden chip, while my 3570K definitely is (will run at 5.06Ghz when pushed)

 

Just ordered my first AMD cpu this weekend. Though it's for a christmas present, an AMD Athlon II X4 740.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.
