GTX 980 & 980TI Are Cheaper?

It's pretty clever. Fury is already shown to be hard to get your hands on so this is the time to make your own cards more enticing.

At $629 the 980ti beats the $649 Fury X in almost every benchmark I've seen and is both available and a bit cheaper.

At $479 the 980 might lose to the $549 Fury but you have to pay $70 more for a few percent extra performance. And if the Fury is anywhere as short in availability as the Fury X then the 980 is a solid winner here.

What I'm surprised we haven't seen is a price cut on the 970. Right now it's in an unfavorable position against the 390.

I agree with what you've said but personally think that Nvidia has given up on marketing the 970. With all the bad press around the memory snafu, I feel as if they've decided to push the 980 and 980ti to people who would otherwise have looked towards the 970. Greater price premium, but much better performance.

I hope to see prices drop more in the coming months, as I am eager to upgrade away from my SLI 660s.

until the 960 is $160 and the 970 is 270 and the 980 is 450 and the 980ti is 550 AMD is still better price/perf across the board (except for the fury x)

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

Most are still the same price, the 980 was cut when the 980 ti was released so it did not compete with itself.

Right now in Canada, the cheapest 980 is $588 and the cheapest 980Ti is $809.

Cheapest Fury X is $854, so the 980Ti is looking like the better buy. Mind you, those are prices for reference 980/980Ti's.

The R9 Fury hasn't even started selling in the UK. No listings for it.

Isn't that because its release date is tomorrow (+ a few days depending on how fast the retailer you're buying from gets stock)?

This is typical business practice, companies raise and low their prices by anything from a few dollars to a few hundred depending on the market.  It's hardly anything new or unique.

20 dollars off wow i'm so gonna buy nope.

when did Nvidia become so greedy :|

shiping cost is still a thing ?

Lots of heavy things if ordered shipped for free.

You guys must not buy from Amazon a lot. Its become a law in a lot of places to need to charge Tax and shipping. Newegg doesn't care because they're much more focused on PC components Amazon does because of the variety of products they carry plus the ease of getting a credit line or gift certificates.
