Logitech G304/G305 scroll sensor/encoder

Hello guys, my Logitech G304 sensor is acting up and it just bounces up and down whenever I try to use scroll wheel. So zooming in game, scrolling stuff is a pain. actually impossible cuz the scroll wheel just jumps up and down at the same spot for a long time. I found some scroll wheel sensor but I have no idea what the height of the sensor of my mouse is. If any of you know, can you tell me, please?

Have you considered trying to clean the sensor/whatever the sensor reads first?

Yes, I blew some air in it and it did nothing. That's why I want to replace it. And thanks for showing me my wrong spelling XD

it still could be debris if the "bounce" is consistent, I had mouse that would jitter on scroll, but if I scrolled exact distance I'd end up exactly at the same spot, with jitter of course

to follow up, the mouse would jitter, and would accurately end up at same scroll spot, regardless of speed I scrolled

so I'd reconsider if the scroll speed doesn't affect the scroll at same distance, and if the scrolls aren't random

I'll give it a go again then. But please do write the height of the scroll sensor, please.

I don't really know, you could ask Logitech support, maybe they know

If customer support won't RMA it, and 40$ to get a replacement is out of the budget, I'd highly recommend disassembling it and cleaning with picks and maybe Electrical Contact Cleaner (**not** for eyes). That would also allow you to eyeball the actual rotary encoder they're using which you could then look up on Digikey or whatever and then you can use your PCB rework station to replace it.

It's 10mm according to this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/MouseReview/comments/ci43or/comment/ev1998z/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button kinda make sense since it uses the same shape as the G203, and those thing has a 10mm encoder.

big man big w!
