Petition Against MSI

Guest

Hey guys. I have noticed a lot of objectifying videos that MSI has posted to market their products. I am a male and not at all a feminist. This is just morally wrong and I think that they should already have deleted these videos due to the dislikes. Thanks - Covert https://www.change.org/p/micro-star-international-remove-sexual-youtube-videos

mod edit, alpenwasser

Since this is a bit of a touchy subject: Please keep things civil, folks. Thanks. :)

The music in their videos piss me off almost as much as the video itself

That and the fact that they can't even align the audio correctly.

I agree. It's one thing to objectify women, but for a computer part company to have promo videos that improperly demonstrate how to build a pc is just sad.

Wishing leads to ambition and ambition leads to motivation and motivation leads to me building an illegal rocket ship in my backyard.

Why does that sound more like a porn film title than I think it does?

Sexual content? Where? Are u sure u know what sex is?

It is portraying those women as sex objects (from what I see) and I do know what sex is.

This is just a marketing trick, nothing more.

Almost 90% of advertising is relied to human's desires: it works as a charm and is not prohibited.

Good products, terrible marketing. They should just hire me for god's sake. I could do way better than this guy and probably even have better visual effects. Asus has damn good marketing, MSI should steal that guy.

The thing is, if the woman involved in it didn't agree to it, then it probably wouldn't have been a thing.

Beside the point, it's a pretty inaccurate example of a female PC gamer. most girls I know who play a ton of video games are more likely to wear graphic Tshirts and hoodies rather than... frankly any sort of bra at all, to be honest. They'd also have no makeup, scraggly hair, trousers, bags under their eyes and cut fingernails. Pretty much just normal gamers then. Makes me happy.

I think that it's a morally wrong trick.

It depends on country and laws, but you won't say that their ads are not working, 'cause we sit here and discuss about MSI.

Good marketing so far :D

I'll sign the petition, just so hopefully I don't need to associate my motherboard with the same company that produces these piss poor adverts  <_<

I get using girls in some cases for advertisement, but this is just a prime example of how not to do it.

And @paprikman anyone who would seriously be 'tricked' into buying a MSI product from these adds needs to get out more and meet some actual girls

Their Newegg ads and graphics are pretty good but we just discuss their products for their quality. Also, I usually just watch video reviews (or read Amazon reviews) before buying a product. Those videos will never make me buy a motherboard or laptop.

wow I've never seen any of these videos, they are cringe worthy, bad taste and bad production value. There is more to just objectifying women here, they need to hire better production crew haha
