only unlocked chips can be OC'd

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

Whether AMD or Intel if the multiplier is clocked you can overclock a small amount through the base clock or bus speed if you have access to it in the BIOS.

Usually you can only overclock locked Intel CPU's a small bit. VERY small.

Lol, that's great. i just don't think it's a good idea. they don't exactly have the best wafer in locked chips.

Agreed and from my experiences the RAM doesn't like being screwed about too much through the BCLK.

The i5 4590 cannot be overclocked past running all 4 cores at max turbo frequency, it is possible to increase the base clock to ~103 but that usually isn't worth it.

What Program would i use

Aida64 and Intel Extreme Tuning Utility are my go to CPU stability tests, avoid Prime95 since you have a Haswell CPU.

how would i use Intel XTU?

You can see your temperature and CPU load at the bottom of the program, once you start the stress test you will notice the graph.
