The most powerful computing CPU ? Xeon E5-2699 v3 ...

... Life is a game and the checkpoints are your birthday , you will face challenges where you may not get rewarded afterwords but those are the challenges that help you improve yourself . Joking aside, the 18 core Xeons would have the most provided the application can fully saturate 36 threads

Since it wasn't mentioned that it needs to be consumer grade or enterprise I would say Core i7-5960X for the consumer line and either Xeon E5-2699 V3 or IBM POWER8.

one of the Xeon E7's.

But im pretty sure there are even more powerfull cpu´s in the Enterprise market.
