Is 720P enough for you?

Just wondering: Do you prefer 1080p or 720p for videos on YouTube? Do you think there's a big difference? Why or why not?

After the youtube update when they went to the white background I usually pick 1080p so I can play it in fullscreen. The 720p video player is way to small.

is the content itself 1080p?

often times the content I watch is 720p,and then re-rendered in 1080p,so the difference is minimal.

other times when I'm watching say Crysis 3 2560x1440 gameplay I'll watch it in original quality, because it makes a pretty big difference.

720p helps loading time and is enough for me since I just use a custom scaled 32in tv as my main display. I'd choose a 1080p once I get around to getting a 1440p IPS panel.

I'm fine with 720p on smaller screens. My current laptop has a screen resolution of 1366x768, that's pretty much 720p

I keep it at 360p with "never play high quality video" checked, because I always watch my videos in the default youtube player which is 640x360 pixels anyways, not extended or fullscreen... and it saves my precious 3Mbps bandwidth that I have to deal with.

I use 720p for YouTube videos. I think it's a great medium since YouTube likes to mess up a lot of 1080p videos.

I usually fullscreen it on a second monitor, but if I have to play it in a browser, I use Opera's add-on "Turn Off The Lights" to get rid of the white background.

Honestly, I can't tell a difference between 720p and 1080p YouTube videos. So even if I can load a video in 1080p, I just load it in 720p, because to me it looks the same, and it loads up faster.

I'm using 480p without any buffering at all. And then I go with 720p and I have to wait like 10 min to 3 min video. Anyone know how to make it faster?

I watch in 480 cause 720 lags out here and there for me. 1080 takes forever. My net sucks

I never watch them in full screen...so 720p is plenty in the default youtube screen size.

For fully screen viewing though, 1080p is alright but would like more.

I prefer 1080P when watching anything and when 4K becomes more available then I will want more stuff in 4K. the clear the image the better it is to view something.

360p, unfortunately I would have to wait forever for a 720p or even a 480p video to buffer on my 1mbps internet connection

I prefer 720p because when you look at a 720p video in fullscreen at 1080p, it upscales well usually and 720p is usually fine on about anything and any connection that isn't poverty level :/

if I am out of the house on my phone or laptop 1080p looks oddish or worse when downscaled to say 720p if need be

I prefer a more universal 720p

hell if they forced 720p I would be happy, although if I ran youtube I still woudn't force 720p :P because I am not horribly selfish

just what I preferrrr

1080p is nice at home though, just not highly universal ^_^

I am fine with 720p but almost always prefer 1080p when my internet can handle it, my internet slows down at around 5:00 PM so I watch videos at 720p then.
