Cool even though I hate McDonalds. Good to see a push for the future. There is job loss but come on it's a mcdonalds job and you could get paid more to maintain the robots.

Programmers will be an expanding industry, not a shrinking industry. Someone has to program the robots, and it won't be robots that can program unless we see true artificial intelligence. Even then, it's much cheaper to hire people than to run a massive AI server.

Yes but the programming industry lacks programmers because not everyone can be one,its very hard and altough id love to learn programming i cant there are not many ways to learn it in my country, and highschool is a waste of time here,not sure how is in the US.

And thats what i was talking about true AI,robots will keep invading our world as processing power gets cheaper but if AI becomes a reality we are fucked we cant survive like that,everyone would use AI to achieve their goals,robots and automation will do many jobs replacing people and the planets population keeps growing, we will be fucked altough as much as id love AI to become a reality just as much i wish it wont,we need to stop multiplying and decrease our number not increase it.Humanity is a parasite,eventually we will be too many.

The overall job market will decrease (due to efficiency) but this is just converting 1 job's skillset to another job.

 

Manufacturing jobs will be created in order to build these robots. Jobs needed to acquire the raw materials for the robots will expand. High levels jobs in order to design better more efficient robots will be introduced. These robots would then need intelligent programmers to code for them. Robots are machines and as such need servicing of skill technicians. etc. etc.

I see a fully automated fast food place as being takeout/drive thru only.  There likely won't be any place to sit and eat in the building.  Basic clean up is still far too difficult of a task for robots at the moment.  And the place would have to be filled with cameras if there were no people there to cut down on the blatant destruction of the robots.
