Hello I updated the Bios on my Asus motherboard the other day and after that I ran into a strange problem. When I turn off the screen at night, the computer restarts after a few minutes. So I turn the screen back on to log in and start up the programs I want running and turn the screen off again. Only for the computer to restart again. Gotta do it a few times before it stops doing it.

It doesn't behave like this during the day when I turn off the screen, it only happening late evening. Anyone have any idea what the error could be or what I should try to do?

Two theories I have.

1. The GPU via its driver is throwing an OS kernel panic (aka BSOD). You can validate that by checking the C:\Windows\Minidump folder for entries relevant to the time of occurrence.

2. The new BIOS has not playing nice with the Windows 11 Modern Standby mode. To disable it for testing, instructions in the link below.

The Windows is fresh installed as i was thinking about some driver problem so wanted to do a clean install of Windows. How can i see something like OS kernel panic in the dump file? Here is what the event view say: https://delafil.se/d03232a53e56a23d/event.evtx

The event is showing that it's bluescreening (BSOD). The dump file isn't really needed because it's a Video_TDR_Failure which means that the GPU wasn't responding so Windows reset the driver, but it was still not responding. You can try using DDU to remove the current driver before downloading and installing a fresh one.
