Engadget reports that adblock is releasing its own android browser (beta)

Whatever your views are on online advertising, it's here to stay. But that doesn't mean that companies aren't doing all they can to strip the web of ads on your behalf. Perhaps the most notable is Adblock Plus, which has made a name for itself by delivering browser extensions so efficient that Google and Microsoft have paid to be whitelisted. After briefly enjoying a period on the Play Store before it was pulled by the search giant in 2013, Adblock Plus today makes a return to Google's marketplace in the form of a browser.

Google originally removed Adblock Plus because it interfered with other apps. So by implementing the same technology into Adblock Browser for Android, it could silo the experience and immediately nullify the issue. The app itself runs on a version of Mozilla's open-source Firefox Android browser, which offers stability and a sense of familiarity but can also block ads and speed up browsing. However, support for third-party extensions and Firefox's synchronization features are lost as a result.

It is rolling out in beta, and you can roll in here: https://adblockplus.org/en/adblock-browser/

This. I hate having to use it just to not worry about hitting the wrong button and ending up with adware on my PC. I wish websites would have guidelines on what ads are OK or not. Ads shouldn't just be a fake download link to download some virus/ adware / malware, and I've had one instance where I accidentally clicked the wrong thing and bam, adware on my machine! That was a fun afternoon. And it also forces me to use an adblocker, which deprives the webhost of ad revenue.

Just root your phone and get adaway. Blocks all adds including on the youtube app.

Ads are disgusting on youtube lol, most videos want me to watch the full ad which I end up closing...

And stops adds in most game apps that are annoying as hell, popping up where it expects you to press so they can get an extra click out of you. Or horrible video ads that eat up data cap. Only downside is that i have had a few apps where the adblocking would randomly break the game. I leave it off most the time unless i know ill be playing something with really annoying ads.

I sometimes wonder if Google have thought about simply denying access to it's services to everyone using adblock.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

To fix that just use luckypatcher. Removes all ads from apps :). Luckypatcher is a essiantial on android (for myself). Lets me take control on my apps and make sure it doesnt get any extra abilitys e.g. Game apps does not need the call permission so I can completely disable it.

Please note that Lucky Patcher is not working properly with Android Lollipop.
