They do depending on the compound in the tyre.

i.e. if you have really soft compound tyres for extra grip (must have for any v8/highly strung turbo'd car in my area due to rain) then it drys them out and can actually rip chunks off.

Not to mention the damage to your body work, destroys paint (rocks) and if you have a car anything similar to what I like then the fact that it's lowered you would be expecting for bumpers to be ripped off and possibly even a rad if it's mounted low.

Nice bike, I rather the look of the old carby'd r6 though, the 2000 model.

Currently only have a postie which has scratches 3mm deep in the bore and the piston looks like its been dragged behind a car.

She blows more smoke then a 2 banga and the clutch is screwed from doing first-second clutch ups around town

I'm thinking more along the lines of a muscle car than a lowered rice rocket.

A heavy wide steering muscle car?

No thanks, give me a nice clean shaven S13 with an S15 front end (black with matte black 5 spoke rims) slightly lowered (about 70mm ground clearance).

Awesome handling which comes in handy when drifting and I like the sound of the turbo spooling (although im a sucker for a big lumpy v8 like an SS maloo)

I'll take a 69 charger over that any day of the week. Muscle cars can handle fine on dirt, if you know what you're doing.

Thanks. I love the r6. Does not matter which year it was made in.

I don't think you have ever driven a car similar.

Take it for a spin and then take a JDM for a spin (not a bloody civic tho lol) and tell me which you had more fun in.

You could go the best of both worlds and get a nice SS or XR8. Sporty enough like the jdm's but they have that raw power like a muscle.

Or even better, an XR6 with high mounted turbo :)

I'm more of a fan of the zxr line (although a bit bias due to owning a zxr previously).

If I had to choose a bike though, i'd have a nice fancy matte black S1krr. I like the look of the 2014 models better then the 2015 because of the slight curved headlight cowl on the 2015. HP4>everything

I've driven a 73' 4 door pontiac catalina. 400 cubic inch V8 (true 400 big block, not the smaller "400" that was really a 350 with 400 heads). Thing was 19 feet long. I also drove a 3000gt for about 7 years.

Offroad? the Catalina all day long. Then again it was $400 piece of sh*t that I could do anything to and not worry about. Also had a straight exhaust on it lol (literally, the headers came together, and then I cut the rest of the exhaust off. f**king loud man)

I can just imagine how lumpy that would sound, and the roar when you drop the clutch :o

Sadly it was an automatic. Although it was a GM turbo-400 transmission, had a passing gear and everything. It did end up sounding better when I clamped a glasspack onto it.

Sounded great rolling down the street when you let off the gas as it idled down.

Really, i lose respect for anybody who voted FWD. But the only fun FWD car was the first gen Focus RS.

Wonder if front wheel drive or AWD motorcycles even exist...

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

Well, you turn with the front wheel, and chains don't exactly flex well, so...

RWD all day long. Rear mid engined rear when drive is by far my favourite due to the fact you get the traction of a front wheel drive but the waggy tail of a rear wheel drive. Just look at the mclaren p1 and tell me you don't like rear wheel drive.

Not so fun paying for tyres though...

Tyres are an entertainment expense.

HERESY! S13 with the PS13 front end, Sil-80  or just a late kouki S13 with no front end swapping. The S15 front doesn't suit anything other than the S15 IMHO.

I'm definitely in the RWD camp, putting power through the front wheels doesn't do steering feel any good. Plus FWD also breaks traction sooner when accelerating through corners, particularly then pulling out of junctions briskly.

There seems to be a misconception here. Not all AWDs are boring (well most are, because they were made to be dull, but if you're gonna buy AWD to have fun, you're gonna buy something fun). You can have a lot of fun with AWD. Yes, RWD cars are more fun, they were made to be more fun, but that is a different issue. And yes, usually they are more expensive. Btw I voted for RWD.

I could go on how AWD doesn't mean necessarily power distribution is gonna be 50/50. For instance, let's take (I know, very expensive cars but they do make a good case) Audi R8 and Ferrari FF. Both AWD, different tech but you know what I mean, but that doesn't mean they are boring. They never get more than 30% on front wheels which makes them then "not pure" AWD. I hope in the future we see this in everyday, not $200,000 cars.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.
