ok so ive been doing youtube for 18 months and have 1200 vids, i have 621 subs and it just got me thinking will youtubes system screw me over, I mean like people who havent been active for a few months they get lower views, so i was just thinking that maybe the amount of vids to views (40k) will start making youtubes system screw me over

 

am i right

the reason people who have been inactive for several months get lower views is because people unsubscribe and stop watching when someone doesn't provide content

the fact he has almost twice the videos as he has subs is pretty sad...

 

i used to have four times the videos so i am growing, and ive slowed down my video uploading the first 1000 were in the first 12 months

Maybe focus on providing quality over content. 1200 videos and only 600 subscribers? Something is wrong there.

yup, i think it was a subconscious thing the guy who inspired me to start uploaded 12 vids a day (Both lets play channels) so subconsciously i think i also wanted to upload a lot

ye i know, in the last few months ive been branching out from lets plays, ive been doing more funtage things, some live action shorts and some gta V shorts using the rockstar editor

when i started almost 3 years ago, i took a 6 month long break. my views went from 50+ a video to around 5 average. i struggled for a solid 2 years to get decent views. then a started a second channel for different content and i get 100+ views there. (idk if thats what you meant by the inactivity.) 

Space Journal #1: So Apparently i  was dropped on the moon like i'm a mars rover, in a matter of hours i have found the transformers on the dark side of the moon. Turns out its not that dark since dem robots are filled with lights, i waved hi to the Russians on the space station, turns out all those stories about space finding humans instead of the other way around is true(soviet Russia joke). They threw me some Heineken beer and I've been sitting staring at the people of this forum and earth since.

how the fuck did you pull of soo many views with that amount of subs and 71 videos? i have 100 subs, 5k views and 290 videos.

I think I have a worse ratio, 12 vids and 5 subs... 

thats not bad at all. the mathematical youtube video rule of thumb is around 10% of your subs = average video views.  (i smei pulled this out of my ass and semi statistical data.)

Huh? I never mentioned views. I do average around 4x my sub count view wise. Not converting many to subs though.

the views are what count, i have the same problem with my second channel. 5 subs but like 100 views per video. with my main channel i have 100 subs but around 10 views per video. its weird.

Yeah my best is 103 views, worst is 2 but that is this weeks and it was quick. Views matter but subs feel better :P

ikr, there was a day when i woke up in the morning and had 88 emails informed me that i have gotten 88 subs in my channel over night. probably the best feeling i have ever had. if i tell my friends that story they make fun of me thinking that subs are grown on trees. but they can be hard to come by and only someone who produces a channel knows and feels the pain or excitement of such a thing.

Yeah I got 2 from people I know and 3 from randoms

 

I used to have a channel with 2k subs and like 1.5 millions views xD

Then YouTube brought me down for copy rights lol....

I had one of those channels only it is still up. 400k views on a single video. A complete rip from someone else
