7/22/13: In reference to SLC what is the life span of MLC and TLC.  Granted, SLC is generally enterprise grade and has more write cycles, I am looking for basic fractions explaining the difference.

Loney: SLC 100k, MLC 10k, TLC 5k, MLC has 1/10 of SLC cycles. TLC has 1/20 of SLC cycles. OSLC has 10x more cycles them MLC and 20x more them TLC.

Specifically SLC has 1 write per bit/block were MLC has 2 and TLC has 3.  Effectively making MLC 1/2 the life span as SLC and TLC 1/3 the life span as SLC.

7/17/13: The first and second gen FX series processors introduced a quad core, hexacore and octacore processor.  Although each processor does have the stated amount of CPU's, they put 2 CPU's on 1 modular and they share the L2 cache.  What is the other reason why most people sometimes consider an FX 8 core to not be a true 8 come?

Because its known from what I heard is that it's not a full core but more like a half core I think that's what Linus said in the 8150 vid he did ago can't check now since I have 0.04 internet speed visiting me grandma for the summer

I will give you the like, but the answer I was looking for was 1 floating point per module giving a lag @ 100% quite a bit.

Because most people are Intel fanboys and regardless of how many cores an AMD has they will neither be enough nor genuine.

Was looking for 1 floating point per module, but this is a similar concept.

 

FX also only has one decoder per module, which is a massive bottleneck.

7/18/13: Known for cooking morning breakfast, this graphics card was known to be the warmest running card on the market.  **NOTE** This is across every manuf of this card not just like say the XFX HD 6770 that ran hot at idle, where as other HD 6770's were fine.

No, AMD's architecture is not nearly as efficient as Intels.  On levels such as execution, IPC's, cache latency, over saturated pipelines etc.  To note, an FX-8350 OC'ed matches an I5-3570K OC'ed pretty well except in single threaded apps.  The FX-8350 does better overall multitasking but after 50% load the lack of 8 floating points vs having 4 drastically slows down rendering and execution, but still giving it an edge but loses hands down to an I7.

AS for the next question, I'd say the gtx470

Close, but no Cigar.  The GPU in question I owned for 4 years myself give or take.  I ran it at 95-100*C overclocked mind you in an asus case that had 1 80MM exhaust fan with an I7-920 (Stock heat stink is rated for 95W but CPU is 130W).  I then ran this card for 2-3 more years in 2 other builds running at around 85*C in case 2 and 75-80*C in my HAF 932.  Sold it for 162.50 on February.
