I have the koolertron, its ok not 100% stable but i stabilized extra in post and did it in slow motion

 

Thanks, my video quality is nowhere near where I want it to be, I am actually quite unhappy with it haha, so hopefully I can make it even better - currently working on audio,

yeah tripod and head over the slider, my slider is nice but i could have done most of those shots with a nice pan motion and the effect would have been similar

 

if you get a LONG slider,  you need 2 (ideally 3) very sturdy light stands (or 2 video tripods) as that thing moves around like crazy

yup, ill have 2 tripods and 1 mic stand... with an adapter to video...

But just incase, ill see when i buy it.. but what do you think about the Konig Light stand from amazon? its £12 and got very good reviews...

For outdoor shooting, i need a ND filter, do you know of any that are good, but not too expensive?

also, i cant seem to get my polarizing filter off my lens, its stuck...

ohh, because i tried shooting outside the other day, and realized that everything was way overexposed... i had to take the aperture down... but then i lose DOF...

also, i need an eyecup thing. When i shoot outside (which is basically everything i shoot) i cant see the screen because of the sun.

yeah that can be an issue if shooting wide open, I currently am not filming outside (well nothing serious) so im not bothered

ok thats a bit pricy, maybe around £20ish

the same price applies to the ND Filter

I avoided the cheap ones because a lot of them use adhesives , there are some other magnetic ones though

ok, so the 50mm f1.8 STM released today.... i planned to get both the 24mm f2.8 and the 50mm f1.8, but then the STM came out, is it worth spending nearly double the original for the stm version?

what are the differences?

honestly the old lenses are very good and if you can get them cheap are a great bargain!!

 

the new ones are improved, its worth reading up on them, more than I can tell you

so the old one is £75 and the new one is £125, is it worth it? is it just the STM motor im loosing out on? i think the focusing distance is less on the new one... and the focus ring is nicer...

Yeah those are the main differences, hmm its hard to say if its worth it, if those features are worth it to you... then yes if you dont care about them, then the cheap old one is fine

is the glass or anything improved? ill watch some videos and see how nice the focus ring is, and decide..

Probably still plastic, its a cheap lens - no way could you break it

The one with wheels is a dolly, it depends what you want, I actually find 120cm WAY too big, and am considering selling it and getting a smaller slider

i kinda like the one with wheels, because it can do 360° things aswell... i might go that route... i'll have to see... but i kinda like a long slider....

yeah its really really long, I use about 1/3 of it - honestly 60cm is more than enough

 

Unless you are going around an entire car or something its WAY too long - it barely fits on my dining table

 

the one with wheels might be useful but not as smooth or controllable a slider IMO -
