Yeah so my parents say that I can buy a $200 microphone or a $600 monitor but not a $140 case. They know that I don't make jack shit from YouTube but I can buy a $200 mic? Laughable at the ignorance. I explained to my dad that I should wait for G-Sync to lower but he said "get a new case when you get a new graphics card." It's more rational to get a new monitor than a new case with a GPU. Ugh.

They know that I know what I'm doing. My dad thinks that a monitor that will ruin my gaming experience (needing to scale down to 1080p from 1440p resulting in a grainy image) will do something. Basically, he says that a case won't do anything for me. Apparently my ugly, black, unintuitive case that uses the same layout as a 2003 Dell PC is "cooler" and "better" than the NZXT N450. It totally doesn't not have an led lit I/O, PSU shroud, and better airflow. Definitely not the case.

I have a $30 case, and it is plain looking. just a black box.  Don't waste your money on a box.

The R4 is a pretty well regarded case. Nothing like what you said.

They bought you the computer. Maybe they want you to save your money for other things. The case is perfectly functional.

Well actually they bought me a prebuilt when I was unintelligent about PCs. Sold that to build this. The R4 is just basic. I mean it's good because of its simplicity but I would much rather have a Noctis 450. There really is nothing else for me to save my money for. The only thing would be a monitor but G-Sync is too much right now. I expect it to go down  a fair amount next year.

The define r4 is a much nicer looking case.

Your dad is doing you a favour lol, just because something is "super cool and gaming with its fully hectic LED's" doesn't make it better. The r4 is a lot more quiet as well.

That's not very wise, switching from the Define R4. It's easily one of the best cases ever built.

I hate to say it but your old man is right, there is no benefit to a new case.  The pc will run exactly the same in a beige box as it will in the coolest looking LED encrusted top of line case.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.
