So being the age i am i have never experienced a nes.I was wondering is it worth getting it or should I get something more modern like a n64. If i do get a nes i will probably end up turning into a media pc.

What?

What do you want an NES for?

You want to turn it into a media PC..?

Those consoles aren't made anymore so using emulators is perfectly fine with me even if it's illegal and downloading ROMs is the same.

It's not like the fbi is gonna bust your door if you download a rom or something

Then if you want to turn it into a media pc then why not, go ahead

lets just say nintendo sued the guy who made a DS emulator, but not those who make gameboy/n64 emulators...

if nintendo isn't selling it, they don't really care TBH

GET THE NES!

Too many people using N64s make it difficult for me to afford N64 games.

Seriously though. I like the NES more. The controller is simpler (and nicer), the games are great, etc.. It's also much cheaper to use (at least in my area). The games for the n64 are ridiculously expensive because of all the '90s' kids who bought them and the select few popular/great games, thus driving up the prices.

"Normandy" i7 4790K - GTX 970 - Phantom 410 (Gun metal) - Z97 Extreme4 (asrock) - 128GB Crucial SSD - 1TB WD HDD - H60 Refurb. - 7 case fans | G710+ Keyboard, G230 Headset, Acer GN246HL Monitor.

Quick thoughts on system: I7 is extremely quick and I'm glad I spent the extra for hyper-threading. I regret my decision to get the GTX 970, it has horrible coil whine. There isn't any excuse for this terrible whine I and others are having. I HIGHLY recommend a 144hz monitor. Future Improvements/upgrades: Rubber fan mounts, basic speakers, more ram (for a total of 16gb), replace GPU.

144hz is love. 144hz is life. I like to submit unfinished posts then do about 20 edits. I like the Night Theme too.

I wouldn't recommend getting an N64. It's considered by some to be the worst of the major consoles. I'd go for a SNES rather than an NES, the games will be cheaper and more technically advanced than the NES.

So basically, my advice, if you want to experience some old school gaming, pick up a SNES.

If you want something from the N64 era (or thereabouts) I'd go for a PS2

This is also a good idea. It depends on your area though. If your local shops sell more SNES, get that, if your shops sell more NES, get that. My shops have a lot of NES with little SNES, which is why I recommended the NES over the SNES.
