Xbox YouTube Channel Advertises The Witcher 3 With PC Footage, Later Microsoft Apologizes for Confusion

Earlier today, Microsoft uploaded a gameplay video for Witcher 3, an upcoming role-playing game from CD Projekt Red. Although it was announced that the Witcher 3 will play in 900p, and locked at 30fps on XBox One, because the video can be played in 1080p, 60fps on youtube, some questioned whether this is footage captured from XBox One.

The video in question

Kotaku reported that they got confirmation from a representative of CD Projekt Red, that the video footage is indeed from the PC version. In the comment section of the video some called Microsoft liars, or saying this is false advertisement because of this.

Gamespot received a statement from Microsoft, saying they never intended to misrepresent the visual fidelity of the Xbox One version of The Witcher 3, and apologizing for this confusion...

“This morning we posted a new trailer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to our YouTube channels featuring footage provided by CD Projekt Red that was captured from the PC version of the game and may not be reflective of final Xbox One gameplay," the spokesperson said. "This was in no way intended to misrepresent the title on Xbox One. We have updated the description of the asset to make clear the source and platform of this footage. We apologize for any confusion and look forward to the game arriving on both Xbox One and PC on May 19, 2015."

And then this line of statement was added to the description of the youtube video, clarifying that this footage is captured from a pc.

Could care less. Will get it on PC, will love the graphics, Don't have to look at the Xbone in the corner of my room.

It's not like shops don't already do this, a lot of the Playstations and Xbox's out there are just a ps4 or xbone ontop w/ a PC underneath running the games at a far better framerate and image.
