how to reduce hhd noise?

Hi

I have a seagate barracuda 1tb 7200rpm and it really loud so I was wondering how to make it more quiet.

You could try suspending the drive with elastics or foam. It would help to list your specs.

i7 7490k

corsair c70 case

750w psu

ga-z97x gaming 5 motherboard

corsair h100i cpu cooler

msi gtx 970 gpu

and 5 corsair quiet serie case fan

No idea. But the concept remains the same. Just wrap the elastic around any gaps in your HDD caddy.

The noise you're hearing is most likely the hard drive vibrating the case, suspending it using elastic completely eliminates any transfer of vibrations from the drive to the case.

Do you have any blocks of open cell foam or elastics available? You can try what LoneRangerS posted.

I cut slots into open cell foam for my drives.

My previous > current solution: (Ignore the cable mess--it's just temporary)
