Is it fine now? You're lucky your computer didn't flat out break...

Make sure to quote me or tag me when responding to me, or I might not know you replied! Examples:

Do this:

And make sure you do it by hitting the quote button at the bottom left of my post, and not the one inside the editor!

Or this:

@DocSwag

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Didn't think I would ever be posting in here but stranger things happen I guess. So I have started a new part time job dispatching business jets. I've done the work before and the man running things is very intelligent and I thought computer literate. Well on my first day he has me getting set all up on the spare potato of a comp I will be using. First he wants me to upgrade it to 8.1 from XP. Nope, CD drive is out and while checking it out I notice the PSU fan isn't turning and has a burned smell. So he has his it guy swap them out and try to upgrade the next day. Nope, this thing is too old to accept even 32 bit. Owner says ok I will buy parts this weekend for a new comp and bring them in Monday. I walk in yesterday to this spread, a Core i7 7700, ROG Maximus IX Formula Z270, and 32 gigs of dual channel DDR4 3200. For a freaking basic work computer! The whole kicker is the PSU only has a 4 pin CPU power plug and that board needs an 8! So i still haven't started working!

I think you can use 4 pin in half of the plug. That's what I have to do on my Core 2 Duo rig.

My dad is on Virgin Media (ISP) and it said to ring the company when an error came up. He the proceeded to go the their respective website (www.virginmedia.com) on his phone and then put it up to his ear. The look on his face as he got more and more confused as to why no one was answering and why it wasn't ringing. I then later told him he was ringing the virgin media website. He still then didn't understand so i ended up calling then and sorting it out.

TL:DR My dad tried to ring a website (I think they would of wrote PEBKAC on or files or something after this!)

That looks like an old imac transformed into a tower case. At least you have a built-in speaker :)

I had recently watched the Apple presentation about the iShitPhone7, saying that it has the antenna bands better hidden than ever. My mom had gotten the iShitPhone7

in Rose Gold (Salmon) and I remarked "They didn't hide the antenna bands very well." My mom gave a look of confusion and asked where the antenna bands were.
