I know that but Elementary OS was advertised as a MacOS alternative that was just as simple.

Is there a different version of Linux that's a MacOS alternative if I wanted one?

Couldn't you just download that office thing separately?

Or I guess it being included is meant to be a perk/convenience thing?

Are there any different versions of Linux that you'd suggest I consider as possible alternatives for if/when I get around to trying out Linux?

You can but their package manager is beyond horrible so trying to download software is pain. I personally use Manjaro.

Idk what a package manager is so maybe I should avoid that.  ?

Is being familiar with Linux a useful skill to have for jobs?    IT or otherwise.

Like would being able to put that on a resume be good in any situations?

Software for linux that is pre-compiled comes in bundles called packages. You can use a GUI package manager such as the Ubuntu Software Center (which was previously in eOS but they made their own terrible version) or through the CLI. Each manager has a giant list of packages that you can download and install.

Unless you plan to work for a company that only uses Microsoft, expect to be using Linux in IT. Most places usually have at least one Linux server though they typically don't have a GUI. Knowing the CLI is very helpful.

Ah. I just checked the privacy policy and saw where it said that people under 13 aren't allowed. I always thought if you were under 16 you weren't really allowed on the forum but I just checked the community standards and it turns out it's just that posting personal information about yourself if you're under 16 is highly discouraged.

Though considering that the agreement thing you have to check when you register probably says you're under 13, if someone was found to be under 13 and on this forum ltt wouldn't be at fault, since it's the user that lied.

Isn't that because those quick boot settings actually cause it to skip the part of boot up where you have the chance to enter the bios?

I think with that setting enabled you have to use some utility the board manufacturer provides to get to the bios right?

I'd be tempted to enable fast boot or whatever it's called on my motherboard but there have been a few times where I've needed to get into the bios so my computer taking all of 30 seconds or so to boot up isn't an issue for me.  ?

Fast boot is effectively your Storage Drive resuming from Hibernation.... That's practically it. And FYI, i'm pretty sure most motherboards allow you to customize how long the BIOS message shows up for.
