Mario Kart Wii.

Great vehicles, cool characters, decent online (not official online now, but with mods), SURPRISINGLY large modding community.

Overall fun game and probably one of my favorites

Define "unique". As in: there aren't many like it?

That is literally the definition of unique :P

Star Wars Galaxies. Had a shitty net code but made up for it with the most RP oriented system ever. Player housing, most customization in any video game, many many many quests that are for the most part interesting, ship combat and ship customization including a number of ships could be decorated like player housing.

Sadly it was shut down because SOE can't into advertising and game operating.

Knowledge is power, guard it well.

derp ;)

I know, but it sounds weird to have a unique game. I can't really come up with a genre or concept that, when successful, isn't copied/reused by another company/game.

New to Star Citizen? Look no further!

Because...well...they are unique.

Hmm if you're interested in unique games then you should check out Extra Credits' (on YouTube) "games you might not have tried" series. They talk about games that are, in general unique. If not interesting/refreshing.

For me though;

descent

Magicka

Bleigh!  Ever hear of AC series?

http://wiki.tockdom.com/wiki/Main_Page

http://mkboards.com/forums/forums/mario-kart-wii-wiimm-fi.5/

Some links :D

Wiimmfi is for if you want to (still) play MKWii online.

There are not always a lot of guys playing it, but when the Twitch users MrBean35000VR or Sword0fSeals are streaming (Mario Kart Wii) the servers are pretty crowded.

The Custom Tracks are... Custom made tracks. You can race against CPU's or online using Wiimmfi.

You have regular track racing, custom track racing and a 'countdown mode'. It's basically racing with a twist.

I can talk hours about this, but this is basics you need to know to get started :D

Although there is a massive difference between being an unique game or being an unique experience to the player.

If a game is unique, it will be a unique experience.. otherwise it is not unique :P

The first time I used that portal gun my jaw hit the floor...just an amazing game and it certainly has a uniqueness about it.

What was it...ugh i totally forget the name of it. There was a game very much in the style of old shooters like duke nukem 3d last gen where you played a native american and aliens abducted you.

That game was quite the mind fuck and it was to my knowledge the 1st commercial game to have the concept of portals (the player couldn't control them though) but it warped my mind in insane manners cause of the portals, wish I could remember the name.
