So I tried LTE for the first time...

Aniallation

So previous my carrier here in Canada was WIND Mobile, which only offered HSPA+ data connectivity. Due to the "huge speed improvements" that the larger carriers had with LTE, I never actually used it for fear that I would spoil myself and wouldn't want to go back. So I had WIND for three years as I was on a contract, but now that it's over, my family switched to Bell, and I got to experience LTE for the first time (in 2015 eh)

When I did a test to compare the speeds of it sitting at my desk compared to my WiFi (in which the router is three feet away) there wasn't anything I could say but WOW.

I'm getting over double the speeds on LTE then I am on home internet... (and at home I pay for "up to" 25 down 5 up)

And this is on a boring old S3.

What kind of data speeds do you guys get on mobile?

There is a great company in Ireland that gives pay as you go (pre pay or whatever you call it) customers unlimited mobile net for 30 days if you top up €20.. Plus some extra free calls and sms.. And you still have the 20 credit after the month (assuming you didn't burn through it with calls) Three.ie if you wanted to check.

They are rolling out LTE At the mo and you get it at no extra charge.. Up until about 2 years ago 8Mb was the fastest net you could get outside of cable (Major cities only).. I totally kick that on LTE.. got 42Mb down and 23 up I think (can't remember phone been wiped since) with a ping of 3 to the nearest or auto picked speedtest server

I Really feel for you guys.. But going home in 2 months will SUCK for me... on 100Mb line here (all to myself) and it costs me ~4 -5 USD per month with static IP, and 150 IPTV stations.. Though they are all in Russian. :\ But will have 24Mb max at home and be paying over €60

intraffic.ua for my current connection.

Though the wiring leavs a bit to be desired... Seen cables spliced with electricians joiners or just twisted (That was friends place.. he gets 1Gb line for about the same price...)

I don'T PreSS caPs.. I juST Hit THe keYboARd so HarD iT CriTs :P

Quote or @dzzope to get my attention..

In areas where Verizon's XLTE are deployed, the speeds are pretty amazing. However, in areas where there is a weak signal, such as inside my house, it's abysmal. Sitting about a foot away from my router, I get more than the 60/4 that I pay for on wifi. In reality, a strong LTE connection is pretty much indistinguishable from fast wifi.

Don't be content with it though because that will inhibit even faster and reliable speeds because carriers will be just like the isp and claim that 5mbps is fast enough or whatever.

My LTE seems to be pretty darn stable, I mean like, I played multiple rounds of League and CS:GO in school with it today and even moving throughout classrooms in a concrete building both ping and speed stayed relatively stable.

But then again also depends on carrier and location... Americans get better LTE speeds but also home internet speeds, here in Calgary 25 down 3 up is already the 4th tier up...

AT&T's LTE.

I'm not at all happy with my LTE speed, especially with Verizon customers getting up to 80Mbps.

Coverage, on the other hand, is amazing.

40 Mb/s down and 16 Mb/s up on my AT&T Galaxy S3. That's 4 times faster download and 16 times faster upload than my cable service. Get it together, Time Warner.

Are you sure cause I see that one bar in the first picture :P speeds really depend on location though. If you're in Texas, you'll be getting much better speeds.

LOL yeah, my house is one of the two places I get little to no signal, at least the places that I frequent (the other is a short stretch of road in a very rural area, which is a dead spot). That's why I have a CM profile set up to disable mobile data whenever I connect to my Wi-Fi network and re-enable it when it disconnects.

Now if only:

1) MMS could be sent over Wi-Fi like SMS apparently can

2) AT&T supported Wi-Fi calling

Then I'd never have to use mobile data in my house, ever.
