lol true ... I was wrong mentioning the shepherd's pie... We have something locally that is VERY similar to the cottage pie but since this is a French province there's no translation and we're used to compare it to the shepherd's pie since it's common outside of the province.

 

Difference is we add corn and we don't always put cheese on top, but it's minced beef! :D

Funny enough, I found a recipe in English and they also call it a shepherd's pie xD

 

But in French it's "pâté chinois" (Chinese pie ... Not that it's made OF Chinese but it was made FOR the Chinese railroad workers)
