Logitech Unveils New "MX Master" Mouse

Ladies and Gentlemen! I give you... THE MX MASTER:

Logitech's new Uber-High-End mouse.

 

Basically, it takes the Performance MX and dumps it in the bin (maybe).

 

A few selling points:

  • The shape is hand-carved, so it'll probably feel nice.
  • It uses Logitech's "Darkfield" laser sensor, for your glass or mirror tabletop.
  • It has two scroll-wheels (awesomely unthought-of):
    -A regular scroll-wheel that can automatically switch between "Logitech's freescrolling" and regular clicky scrolling based on the force of the user's scrolling (so it thinks for you).
    -A horizontal thumb scroll-wheel located at the thumb that can be rebound in software to other functions.
  • It has a supposed 40 day battery life on a full charge (and you can supposedly get a full day from 4 minutes of charging).
  • 400-1600 DPI (a nice touch).
  • Logitech Unifying Receiver and Bluetooth 4.0LE support. With paring to up to three separate devices at once! (selected with a switch on the bottom) (a feature that I REALLY DO LIKE).
  • Has On-board memory to store profiles and button/scroll-wheel settings.
  • Will cost $100US (steep), and will be available in April (but it's already in stock on Logitech's site).

All-in-all, the MX Master looks very promising, but I'm personally gonna wait for some reviews first before buying it.

Depending on how it performs (pun intended), I'll either get it or, if (hopefully) the Performance MX's price will drop, I'll get that since I was already considering getting it in the first place.
