Googling came up with temp of around -196c. Nowhere near -256c

Connection200mbps / 12mbps 5Ghz wifi

You bet it was. You're not going to reach those speeds under water, and certainly not on air.

LN2 throws off the temperature sensor.

 

You can be sure though that if it weren't being cooled it would immediately burst into flames.

Skill? Not really no. Build a cup to hold LN2 and pour it in, hit go button. Patience yes, to insulate socket and adjacent components from moisture.
