So my dad recently was contacted by a kid whose father owned my favorite car before us (it was seized for some stupid reason, forgot what). Anyway, he sold it to the kid for a substantial trade: A Wildcat (not sure the year or anything), a pre-production COPO Camaro (there's an embargo on it so he's not able to legally sell it to us I guess), and a large amount of money.

 

Well, it was just a car, right? You can let it go, for sure. No. I literally LOVED this car, like someone would love their cat or a family member. I would gush more, but eh.

 

Well, you got a pre-pro COPO, be happy you whiny bitch.

 

WRONG. He's gonna sell it as well, since it isn't "practical" and it would cost too much to insure. So, yeah. My dad has gone full retard, just for his own needs.

 

So, goodbye, my sweet, beloved prince. I will miss you, since apparently he's going through with this. I have had a lot of good moments with you, and you have been around for almost my entire life. Not to mention that you smell SOOOOOOOOOOOOO good. And I swear, you will NOT leave me until I have good pics of you.

I remember being really hurt when my Dad got rid of (what was to us) the nicest car ever. He had a Peugeot 309 GTI which, even in 2003 when we had it, wasn't anything particularly special. It had its own cult following for being a hot hatchback, but still. It was too expensive to run as a daily commute car, so it got sold for £500.00 and was replaced by a Vauxhall Vectra.

 

I don't tend to get attached to cars so much now; I think when you grow up you either become passionately infatuated with everything to do with motoring, or you take the more boring (but realistic) stance of them being tools to get around in. Don't give your Dad too much of a hard time for it - material things can always be replaced at a later date.
