If it wasn't for that horrendous adhesive, I would have already bought that first strip, but I don't want to have to keep sticking back onto the case. If anyone knows of a strip with REALLY good adhesive, I would appreciate a link.

Pricing and availability should be at the forum thread in the video description.

It would be nice if the exact links you posted actually links us to the product. When I click on it, it just gives me a whole bunch of really crappy led strip products, not the one in the video.

God that light strip is so ghetto.  Reason I wouldn't do this is incase it did fall off. Just more hassle than its worth.

Like I've wrote under youtube video -

Nice solution. I can see one big problem though. With this you'll have LED always on at the back of your PC but what about people like me, and I bet there is quite a large number out there, people that are running servers at home, servers build from consumer available parts, computers that are on 24/7. I'd like to have that kind of solution, but not LED's turned on all the time. LED's that will turn on whenever I stick my head, hand near to the I/O to plug something. Would I need some proximity sensor or anything like it? Are those kind of things available somewhere? Could I buy it so small to fit next to I/O?

I was thinking more less about thing like https://www.pc-control.co.uk/ocart/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=132 Did anyone tried something like that? I wander how small it actually is.

Liked the short video.

Liked the DIY topic.

These are good videos to release in the mix with the normal format videos.

It's pretty straightforward to use such ready-to-go board like you've provided. Just connect + from USB (red wire) to + of the board, ground from USB (black wire) to ground of the board and to ground of the strip and the output of the board to the + of the strip.

Personally, I really like the format of this video.  It feels more relaxed and with some basic "tech tips" without being heavily scripted.  Keep up the good work.

I'd definitely like to see more videos like this. Also where can one get an internal USB header like that. The only ones I found connect to 4-pin fan headers instead of the motherboard.

Edit: here's the link for the usb headers from that video, but I cant' find the specific one you used. Any help?

Great Idea. Would love to see more of this "Do it yourself" inexpensive stuff that isn't limited to certain locations due to lack of stores... ( Damn you EU )

Never underestimate the power of overwhelming stupidity in overwhelming numbers.

None. It's an LED, not cold cathode :)
