The moment you realise the 295x2 is cheaper than a 980 and completely f*cks that 980 in the arse lol.

Now that's a bargain! Especially when the 290x is over £270-280 in most places. Now can then just lower the 290 to sub £200 prices please? Then I'll definitely get one.

yeah, but you need a hefty PSU, and it will only outperform in games which can utilize crossfire.

the cf/sli supporting argument is so wrong nowadays imho.

and ofc it needs a big ass psu but it also delivers big ass performance

I have a pair of 290xs in crossfire, and I'll tell you now, it's not that power hungry, and just look at the scaling across a range of popular games at high resolutions (which the 295x2 is really made for):

It's almost always close to 100%, which is not universal, but honestly, most AAA games get 80%+ scaling.

True 2 way SLI or crossfire has the best scaling then it starts to tail of kinda hard topping out at 3 way

Yep, I'm extremely happy with my crossfire setup.

In fact, in the future, so long as support continues and improves, I'll probably stick to 2 gpu setups for the great price:performance on offer :)

I really like what AMD did with the 295X2. I hope a similar card (non-brand) follows in the 300 series. They really hit this one out of the park with the included cooling and specs.

i have one in my basket on overlockers now.. but I'm only hesitating as the 390x is so close!! with is rumoured spec thats reportedly to be 70% faster than a 290x.. a single card solution thats almost as fast as a dual card setup.. that and id need to drop another £200 on a new power supply as my current 650w would shit a brick..

Gaming PC: • AMD Ryzen 7 3900x • 16gb Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3200mhz • Founders Edition 2080ti • 2x Crucial 1tb nvme ssd • NZXT H1• Logitech G915TKL • Logitech G Pro • Asus ROG XG32VQ • SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless

Erm, 540USD converts to 360 GBP, so you'd be spending more. :S

This card is crossfire but better.

The fact that it doesn't go higher than 65c and it's loudness it's 44dB compared to 290x crossfire can hit 90c+ and hits noises of up to 60dB.
