With a supercharger and a performance chip, I should be able to get at least 400HP out of the 5.0. 

Yeah with a bit of boost you will get 400 without much trouble. Mine is still N/A but I would really like to swap in a Coyote 5.0L and add a Kenne Bell with E-85 but other things always seem to take financial priority.

Strange sleeper build I guess. Glad your issue wasn't the head gaskets. They're a royal pain to do.

I am glad it wasn't too. I am, super glad the transmission issue was fixed for free. The previous owner payed for it for me (Without me knowing). When I went to pay, the mechanic said it was already payed for by him (He is good friends with the mechanic). Never heard of a problem with a OD gear, I cannot imagine it was cheap.

OD gears can break if you leave the vehicle in OD constantly. They're not meant to be run like that.

Lets see, in a manual transmission all overdrive does is put more strain on the bearings in the transmission. A good transmission's bearings will out last the life of the car. Saturns are common for this iirc. Synchros can go bad, but they can go bad in any gear as much as an overdrive gear.

 

Autotragic, depends on the design because there are a lot of them. Plus more parts like solenoids and the valve body. Fluid quality and temperature is also a factor. 

 

To not use overdrive, you are increasing your engine RPM. This increases wear on the engine not to mention fuel economy goes into the trash. If your overdrive is going out its probably from neglect of maintenance rather than anything. I've never heard of overdrives being a common failure across all transmissions collectively. Usually its 1-2 or 2-3 in an automatic transmission because its the most common shifts.

Hey all, my mustang is at the muffler shop, having a Catback w/ Flowmaster Super 40s put on with chrome GT tips. The votes were even and to my ear the Flowmaster sounded better. Pictures to come tomorrow.

No way! How'd they even do it?? The nozzles are designed so they'd have to jam it in.

If it were me I would get the most expensive one so the value of the car would go up... You have a hard decision though :(

Not many people would recognize that the bumper is from a v6 (I didn't), the hood scoop looks like it belongs on a new edge, so I'd go with headlights. Just not angel eye or whatever cus IMO it looks kinda corny. I'd go with some nice oem headlights.

I'd go for the headlights because bad headlights suuuuuuuuck. I'd also get stock bulbs/housings..at most the slightly smoked ones but that's me and I'm boring like that.
