Hi guys,

Alot of people disslike Beats By Dre but are they really that bad? I thought about buying the "Solo 2" which are 150ish Euros in my country.

I want my headphone to have good audio quality though. I listen to all kinds of music. But I need a good bass sound. Would beats by dre do it for me or what would you recommend and why?

I am using the Sony XB-500 at the moment and I love this headphone but its kinda dead and I disslike the 2 cables. Plus after hours of listening it doesnt feel comfortable anymore but the sound is perfect though.

And what about bluetooth headphones? Is there a big difference?

Thank you.

I don't think they're exactly bad, I just think they charge way too much for how good they are.

You'd be better off with a pair of Audio Technica's or something.

The bass.

Its WAY to much.

That's all im saying

You can't hear a thing.

(For some of their headsets for the solo 2 I can't remember..)

When theres no bass though, they are good, the clarity is actually decent, not as good ofc compared to much more higher end headphones, but for it its actually decent.

I'd probably though recomend some form of Audio Technicas or Sennheiser Urbanites.

Intel i5-6600k (Cooled by a 212 evo) - Asus Z170-A - Asus Dual OC GTX 1060 - NZXT S340 - WD 1TB (Getting SSD this month, hopefully) - 8GB DDR4-2400

LG G4 - Asus Zenwatch 2

I own Urbeats and they're not bad, but most of the hate for Beats is the fact that they preform about the same as $50(47.70 euro) to $150 (143.10 euro) headphones but they charge a couple hundred US$ more.

They are not that bad but it's too overprice and the sound quality is not that good as other cheaper headphone.

They charge too much for them, also, there is a silly bass boost that some of the headphones have and it's not something you can control, so it overpowers things too much. There are many more options that are better than Beats By Dre at a lesser price with better quality and better sound quality. Just don't go with beats. Go with something like Audio Technicas, or do some more shopping around

Downloading programs from CNet is not a good idea, as they will commonly include unwanted, and sometimes dangerous bloatware... The more you know.

There are good headphones around 90 Euro/Dollars around.

I guess I would be kinda stupid to buy beats by dre for twice the amount of money for the same quality of a $90 one. But dre looks good and is smaller, which I like alot.

I know the audio is more important but still...it looks too damn good lol

I just dont want to end up buying beats and be like "wow these are horrible!". Eventhough some headphones are better in price an quality.

I just want them to sound good too (with some sweet bass).

Solo2 is on ear though.

Is over ear better? Im using over ear at the moment so im used to over ear.

The over ear by beats is way too expensive. That is something I woudnt buy.

Studios2 cost like 300ish where I live.

Hey they are more expensive then beats lol

As long as we're spending copious amounts of money on headphones, we might as well make sure they're excellent.

Now off you go, my friend.

Great, here's another MKBHD or w/e youtuber's fanboy @SSL, you may proceed

I guess I'm just curious why it makes more sense to spend money on one overpriced headphone over another, especially given the M70x will not have the sound signature the OP wants.

Beats 2nd gen (anything with '2' on them) are actually quite decent and enjoyable. But of course there's the price issue.

Tried Solo 2, which was around $270 in my country. I sure can enjoy it. Then again, given the fact that with $250 (discount price) or $299 (full price) you could get Hifiman HE-400, I wouldn't bother with beats...

Oh, and if you're really going for beats, get the one without DSP (small switch). Those DSP does nothing but wreck the sounds.

@Thaddeus I'm a DT770 Pro 32ohm fanboy.  I haven't compared them to a lot of other headphones, though.  I borrowed a handful from people I know before I purchased... so maybe a half dozen others, tops.  Some people online recommended them because they have good treble (what I was asking for) and they do, but the bass is also pretty wicked, too.

They seriously make my 8-9 hour days at work so much nicer.
