AMD R9 300 series

HmmR

will amd be able to pull a come back from nvidias domination?

AMD's upcoming R9 390X is expected to feature 4096 cores coupled with a 4 GB video frame buffer. In addition to the high amount of video RAM, the R9 390X will also be the first GPU to sport an SK Hynix's HBM memory design stacking layers upon layers. Using this approach, the chip will boast extremely high memory bandwidth, which will result in overall performance increase in future gaming titles.  from times of india

SK Hynix's HBM memory design-how much faster is it?

4 GB video frame buffer-is that enough for a flagship card (srs amd)

4096 cores are a lot and enough to run any game

time will tell if it is over hyped or not. i just hope the rumors about a 295x2 like hybrid reference cooler are true. or at the very least something not as ungodly loud as their previous reference coolers

Its going to consume a ton of power and run hot, like all their other GPUs

This is why even the single GPU 390x will come with a liquid cooler.

if the 390 or 390x is truly as good as it claims and is under $500, i'll own one for sure.

I run my own indie game company called Color Dragon Studios where we are currently making a 2d platformer game called Small Earth.

AMD.  When you're releasing these gpus..

Please make CPU's that are actually viable for gaming, that don't destroy my wallet.

My 8320 can barely handle bf4, and arma 3 makes it cry.

Pls halp.

I already run dual 290s which are excellent, and if they are good I will continue that trend.

I'm not sure I could justify going to a 390X

Hopefully the R9 390x can live up to the hype, I have high hopes for the implementation of HBM in the cards.
