If I were to get stereo headphones, is there any virtual surround sound you would recommend?

The one built into most games, not that it matters, because the headphones are still stereo. But they are all stereo, with a singular exception that is ass...

if you don't like clip on mics and prefer a stand mic, then logilink's hs0012 i believe is a great value mic and it shouldn't cost more than 3usd. also ney to razer virtual surround sound. edit: i would go with closed phones like ath m20s

Well, out of all places, Newegg still sells the Laredos, not the Silverados though. :/

Laredos sound aight, but are uncomfortable as hell which makes them hard to recommend. The build is also much more inferior than the Silverados - admittedly I got a "recent" pair, alongside my second pair of more "recent" Silverados and the pads weren't as good as my first's. I suspect the company decided to just flood the market with whatever they could throw together for cheap before they bailed out.

Ah, I have a pair when they were $15 + $5 for shipping... I use them on the Dell, my phone, and my brother uses them more than me... Sometimes I end up not seeing them for a few days since he likes them. Plus they're small so it's a good thing for him since he uses them when he does weightlifting. But I do agree, they are very small. :(

Have they gotten more comfortable over time? I tried some cheapo velour pads off eBay which lengthened the time I could wear them, but the pads also took away the bass which made them pointless to wear.

A little bit, it's noticeable, but not a lot more, maybe can squeeze like and extra half hour to hour wearing them now.
