Anything AMD since it is going to be optimized day one for AMD. I would suggest waiting until the new Radeon 9000 series comes out and grab one of them but if you want to buy the cards now I would suggest two 7950's in Xfire. They have the official drivers to fix the issues they have with Xfire in july and they 7950's are currently the best price/performance card out. The 7950's also just got a price drop also. And if that wasn't enough they come with 3-4 games.

The 7870 XT has better price to performance as its £30 less here in the Uk however the performance difference is very minor and you can overclock the crap out of it, ive got mine to match a 7970 which is cool.

Nobody knows how the game will perform on different cards. If you want to make sure you get the highest performance, get a 780 :P It will be more optimized for AMD right at the start, but as we saw with BF3, Nvidia cards run it better than AMD. So, I have no clue how the game will run.

how many FPS do you think it will be? with one 780?

With a 780, my guess @ max settings, 4x AA: +-70FPS (5760x1080) or +-120FPS (1920x1080)

but that is just a guess ;)

I personally believe that BF4 will follow the BF3 in its CPU requirements. I have a 7850 and I am currently cpu bound (not with a decent overclocked). So I would say that it will be playable with just about anything over 180 dollars from the current and next gen cards. And for everyone saying it looks the same please realize that the E3 game-play is alpha/pre-beta. And from the people who have played it it seems that the code is what was mostly improved as of right now. It is always easier to test a game with the previous versions art/models and update them as the game gets closer or in parallel. Remember the BF3 beta and the live game pretty large differences. As for the card I agree with others wait until Bf4 gets closer. Never settle plus new tech.

I would get 2 7950's or get one GTX 770 4gb edition and save up for another one.  A GTX 780 is a great card (i have titans) but you just have to be prepared for the fact that you spending $650 bucks and anybody running crossfire or sli anything (660 or above, 7950 or above) is gonna be stomping all over your brand new card. So then if you want more you have to buy another GTX 780 so the total is up to $1300 bucks. If you buy 7950's or 770's you have the option to get two cards and insane performance is attainable at a much lower cost.

The same cards that can run BF3 good. Don't know why people are expecting some demanding game compared to BF3. Personally, it looks worse then BF3. The single player looks better graphically but multiplayer looks terrible. Ooh Aww, the building falls down! Whoop Dee Freaking Doo

because it is in pre-alpha and they were using bf3 textures as a placeholder

Do you guys think it would be worth upgrading from a 7850 to a 7950 for bf4? Or wait?

I'm pretty sure current gen cards will still manage BF4 at high settings just fine.

the game isn't released yet so we don't know know but it will offer you a great gaming experience but a gtx 660 and 660ti will be brought to their knees trying to run bf4

I doubt it, I have a 4670k at stock speeds with 8gb ram and a msi gtx 660ti and i get about 70-80 fps average on bf3 on ultra at 1920x1080, I don't quite think they will be 'brought to their knees' But im going to be going SLI for BF4 just to be sure, But if im already getting above average fps on a 660ti on maxed out settings it can't be much of a more demanding game already, But just to be safe im goin sli

I think you will be capped with your 2gb VRAM bf4 will use insane textures

I'd say just buy the best card you can for the price you're willing to spend. I'd go AMD just because they said BF4 would be optimized for AMD cards and FX processors however, that doesn't mean Nvidia cards will be trash for BF4. It'll most likely take a week or two for Nvidia to release driver updates to improve performance.

We need to know the resolution im guessing 1920×1080? if the answer is yes GTX770 should be enough to give you stable 60 fps easly and will probably get over 60fps around 60-75 maybe even 80 fps. So my answer is 770 if you are going with 1920×1080
