RAM frequency

I have some 4gb ram sticks and i dont know how many mghz it is. If i put one in my mobo and it isnt compatable can it damage my mobo Or will it just not work?

just buy the cheapest ones, because MHz doesnt really matter

if they are higher than what your motherboard supports, they will just run slower, not damage anything

No it will be fine. Most mobo adjust temseles for yhe ram frequency anyway. If its line ddr2 ram in a ddr3 slot. It just won't fit

If anything, it just won't work, nothing would be damaged

But it totally depends on your motherboard whether it support it or not .. if the system hangs then put the RAM away it might be harmful.The problem is that the faster module will revert back to the slowest module speed

It will not harm or damage your computer in any way, but it might run unstable because it's mixed RAMs.

Doesnt matter. As long as its the required DDR_ for the mobo, it'll work.
