After a while of telling me he's getting a new pc, my friend finally did. He told me originally he was getting (I quote) a "Pentium i7" which I laughed loudly at, but couldn't be bothered to correct him. Today he messaged me saying "ooh I have 8 cores", to which I said "What CPU is it?". He replied with "i7". I said "That doesn't give me any info apart from that it's at least a quad core hyper threaded CPU" and he said "I said 8 cores" I said "AT LEAST" he said "It's at 2.7GHz". I googled it, and I only found mobile CPUs. He eventually copied and pasted from somewhere his CPU. It's a bloody 920! Great CPU, and amazing OCer. I said "You gonna OC it? Bloomfield OCs are amazing" he said "Maybe. I tried EVGA Precision X"

he's a great friend to me, and we love to play csgo together, he's just technologically retarded hardware wise. A couple of years ago he told me that his "GPU bus" was "holding me back"

I don't know why but people like this are annoying to me, I can at least name 3 of my friends who talk nonsense about PC hardware and I can't do anything but laugh at them in my head :D  :lol:

 

this story is legit true, I asked my friend if he was building a PC and he said he was. So I thought "ok, he must know how to put and plan together a computer then" next day he told me he planned a build, so I asked him to send me the rig he planned, and first thing I see is he paired an i5 CPU with an AMD motherboard, and that's when I closed it immediately. What's even more funny is he included a CPU watercooling kit, claiming he'll have a full watercooled PC.
