Through the years I've noticed I don't really do much on my phone besides social networking, reddit, and youtube.

I tend to keep things very simple and default for the most part. I know there is so much more I could do with my phone, but I tend to just fall back to those main apps.

Do you guys have recommendations for a feature or app that was a "game changer" for you?

Right now I'm on a Note 3 and my top used apps are:

Facebook

Twitter

Instagram

Bacon Reader

Youtube

Podcast Republic

Google Play

inb4 Clash Of Clans

Only thing I use on my ipod (closest I have to a phone atm) is ask.fm, twitter and instagram. And Clash Of Clans. lol

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

I have no apps on my cordless home phone.  It has buttons that don't work easily anymore.  When pressed they don't register well.  I bought the phone at Walmart.  It is black and can only be used at home.  :)

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

I still fail to see my phone as anything more than a phone still. Now with internet. I don't game on it or anything. Teamviewer is nice. OH! I used to use an SSH client.

I have a TI-84 emulator as well. I don't always have my calculator with me, and it's nice if I'm in a pinch.

I'm quite picky, especially when it comes to app permissions.  Some people may install a calculator that wants access to accounts, contact data and can send text messages without user consent, but I won't.

Still managed to get far more apps than I thought I ever would.

- Daily Calculator Free (by TricolorCat) - looked so much better than the default one

- Event Flow Calendar widget (by Synced Synapse) - to replace the standard calendar widget

- File Manager HD (by Cheetah Mobile) - Had this for years now, installing it is second nature even though I rarely ever use it.

- Firefox (by Mozilla) - doesn't need any introduction now, does it?

- Gallery KK (by Moblynx) - replacement for the default gallery, which worked on my nerves with the preview movies that you can't turn off

- Keep Screen On ! (by Formias) - has a simple 1x1 widget that allows you to override screen sleep.  Always comes in handy whenever I need the screen to stay on.

- Note Everything (by SoftXperience) - lacks the cloud storage of Evernote, but I'm not much of a cloud fan unless I actually own and control the cloud.

- Office documents viewer (by Joerg Jahnke) - tried a few, and this was the first one that actually displayed LibreOffice spreadsheets somewhat properly

- Poweramp (by Max MP) - I bought the pro version. Best music player out there IMO

- SD Maid (by Darken) - bought the pro version, it was the only tool that allowed me to delete the bloatware that HTC included in the Lollipop ROM. Yes, this WILL delete locked system apps without requiring root.

- Simplest Checklist (by JakiganicSystems) - If only it had an option to have multiple checklists, it would be perfect.

- Soundhound (by Soundhound Inc) - does this need any introduction anymore?

- VLC For Android beta (by Videolabs) the default video player had issues with .mkv files

- Weather & Clock Widget (by Devexpert.NET) - I went for the ad free version, looks just so much better than the default HTC widget and is much more customizable.

- Wifi Analyzer (by Farproc) - if you have WiFi problems, this is essential to determine what channel is best to minimize interference)

Wallpaper : Shadow galaxy (by maxelus.net) I like space backgrounds, and this one is just gorgeous. Also be sure check out that dev's other live wallpapers, there's some amazing stuff in there.

Games : Solitaire (by Ken Magic) - first thing I installed on my first smartphone, first thing that goes onto any phone I own.
