HI All,

this is my second month in the club and i have CANCELLED IT.

I like most people who were interested in this went through their "style Profile" and loosely picked out what kind of stuff i wanted. I have a lot of muted and dark stuff so i wanted some colour so i picked the "pop" option. I also wanted smart stuff (biz casual) as i have enough t's and other stuff that is fun.

THe first box arrived with a khaki windcheater jacket and a DARK GREY T........

Now i know it's picked from a range of options but what i have a greater suspicion is that they send any old shit that they have a cheap deal that month with.

If i selected smart and pop colours in what universe is a dark grey T and a Khaki windcheater either "smart" or pop colours?

Not really happy with this i went to the website to maybe tell them in my profile or anywhere else that "this really isn't my kind of thing"......no such place exists. "You can send the stuff back" is the mantra........well considering the experience with my second box here's why i ill not be doing that or continuing with this company:

It is now the 30th of Jan.

I paid for my box on the 15th.

I have yet to receive my box or garner a satisfactory answer from the company as to why my box hasn't arrived (and no I don't consider "please be patient" a satisfactory answer.

Now at this point you may be saying "hey shipping problems happen" and you would be right but given the fact that their warehouse and HQ is EXACTLY 90 MINUTES DRIVE from me looking at a website that is :"tracking" my order that says it took 8 days for the box to be registered with USPS before being transferred to their delivery fulfilment place is bullshit. Plain and simple.

If i lived on the east coast or alaska i could understand shipping problems and i can forgive shipping cock-ups if the company:

a: doesn't send platitude meaningless emails "please be patient we are working hard during this transition" - I have waited 11 days for a box to be sent 90 minutes drive down the road i have been, by any definition of the word, patient already.

b: The company makes even the smallest measure of recompense ( a percentage off the next box, an additional pair of sock for your trouble , literally anything to say "we fucked up massively here's a meaningful sorry" )

At this point i feel it would have been better to stand outside Target or Walmart and hand a fucking stranger $60 with my waist and chest size and say "get me anything, it really doesn't matter"

and finally , no it's not the end of the world, it's not a crushing weight in my life but the $120 i spent so far could have gone on a M.2 ssd or a new water cooling block or any number of things that would have made me smile.

Lesson learned, fuck clothes always buy hardware

This isn't the first complaint with Five-four I've seen around here...I've seen a few others complaining about the quality as well -- any comments on that?

/Also, I think it's fairly obvious (at least in my mind) that they send out whatever they happen to have gotten a great deal on that particular month.

Yeah, i had a feeling i wouldn't be the only one.

As for quality. I have a range of clothing from fun cheap T's to VERY nice suits and P-Coats. This stuff would fall into the "it's cheap so i don't give a shit what happens to it".

Worth $60 no way in this life or the next i'd pay $120 for the first box. Can't comment on the second as it's still "on it's way"

I could have bough both items (SUPER thin jacket and T) at any store for around $60. This, obviously, is supposed to be offset by the "convenience" of having sent to your door.

There are no faults with the items but not a chance in hell the almost see through thin T-Shirt is worth over $40.

It's definitely not a good deal.  Pretty sure you can get better stuff at old Navy or Target for lower price.   And it's definitely not a good deal for Canadians because of the extra shipping charge, which Linus conveniently not mentions even though he's also Canadian.

This is why I buy my own clothes at brick and mortar stores.

Try before you buy, and you get what you like every time.

Sorry about your bad experience, but at least you gave it a shot.

youre one of many on here who have complained about services from this sponsor.

hope linus drops them soon, the people here who actually have tried it, have not had a good customer experience.

Well, you can't quite say that. All you can say is that there have been a few (<10 instances that I can think of) people complaining. And remember a dissatisfied customer is louder than a happy one.

Hey, i'm not saying everyone should boycott or telling anyone what to do/not to do but i was made aware of it through LTT vids on youtube. The premise sounds great and the info on their site was very convincing. My major problem is with how this (or any) company deals with COLLOSAL fuck ups like mine.

the person on the end of the phone i eventually managed to talk to had ZERO phone manner. He had a tone and energy level that screamed "hey I KNOW I KNOW i have been answering peoples complaints ALL FUCKING DAY" rather than "oh good lord that's terrible we'll sort this shit right now!"

It makes a difference and the oversell on the site is unforgivable. It's a boutique style that's sold on the idea you get personalised stuff to your taste.

NOTHING could be further from the truth and for that i cannot nor will i ever accept bullshit and poor service as "we are having problems bear with us"

I have attached my tracking list (minus important info) if anyone wants a good laugh (or needs proof)

It seems Linus' sponsors really aren't that great anymore :( I too had a really bad experience with Audible a few weeks down the line.

Care to elaborate?

I just go to the local store, buy plain coloured T-shirts and a pair of black shorts.  Done.

On days I'm feeling really creative I might go for a striped T, but thats the most it gets.

Anyways, thanks for the warning.  I will spread it on to anyone who is thinking about joining FiveFourClub.

And I'm surprised you didn't know this earlier.  Fuck cloths and get hardware was a rule of thumb, I thought?

I also agree, Linus should mention the increased shipping cost to Canadians in any FiveFour ad spots. I've mentioned this to him before, and his response was "We live in Canada, we always expect shipping to be more expensive". Which is true enough, though I'd still feel better if it was at least mentioned.

Voice your concerns to @LinusTech, I doubt he even cares what his fans think. These complains have been going on since Five Four became a sponsor, but LMG gets their kickback, so they don't care.

I strongly disagree with this sentiment. I feel like Linus does care a great deal about his fanbase. The problem is when 10 people complain, but 3000 people had a great experience, then those complaints aren't really representative of the average experience.

linus literally stated multiple times

"if our viewers and fans are not having a satisfactory experience with one of our certain sponsors and we get enough complaints of it, we will have no problem dropping them as a sponsor"

yes, linus does care, because he doesnt want to be advertising low end shit on his channel.

Sorry but if I am going to buy clothing I am going to try it on right at the store or at least get it from a store I can easily return it to as in one I can walk to or get a ride to.  This sponsor was never something I'd be interested in from the get go.  Sorry OP that you and others have had some bad experiences and hopefully you asked for refunds if at all possible.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S
