Mouse Clicking Twice When I Click Once?

Hi everyone, I just have a quick question about my Mad Catz R.A.T. 5 mouse.

I've owned this mouse for about a year, and I haven't been experiencing any problems, until about a week ago. Suddenly, when I click once, the mouse will click twice. Such as, if I'm closing a single tab in Chrome, it will close two tabs because it will double click and click the close button on both tabs. Another example is when I try to move files around on my desktop, it opens them. It doesn't always happen, but it usually does.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!

Is there a way to fix that, or do I just have to buy a new mouse?

Happened to my G700. They say it's that gold piece of contact inside the switch, which has lost its shape or something. Tried to fix it by bending back to shape. double click problem is gone, but button is now always in a depressed state, making it very uncomfortable when pressing it. Went out and got a G502. Mouse still under warranty? Then send it back for a new one. So far only Asus mouse can swap out the switches.

ive opened my rat before, lost cause sadly, now if you like the rat style of mouse i suggest you wait for the rat pro, it will have changeable switches so this will not be a problem, i believe an asus mouse also does that at the moment but asus and quality are not friends. Logitech is always a good option.

open up the mouse and put some oil or contact cleaner on the switch, and work it in by pressing it.

if it still double clicks you'll have to replace the microswitch.

I've had the same problem with my razer multiple times.

Will work for electronic components and parts
