Ok for cheaper builds (when recommending to friends or something) I know they improved a lot recently.. But I'd never use it in my own builds, cant forget the time its was still cheap "carbage"

Not anymore, ive had one in the past and it was terrible, usb 3 ports wouldnt ever work couldnt get a stable oc for the life of me when i know full well this chip is capable of 4.8ghz, 2 of 4 dimm slots were doa.. worst board i have ever bought.. current board is a close second

They arent bad, but they arent good. they are like Dell OEM mice to me, it gets the job done but it isnt ideal.

I use an ASRock Extreme4 Motherboard with a 3570k.

I like it. The software they provide with the Mobo is awesome. RAMDisk, Network traffic monitor, and quite a few overclocking things. Pretty cool.

I will admit their power delivery systems are bad, but that's only important for hardcore overclockers. I'm a moderate overclocker, so it's fine for me.

I'd buy it again (the black, gold, and grey theme is so sexy).

A lot of my friend have it an love it. I think it is 4 or 5 have the extreme 4 with i5 3570k. I would get them since they seem pretty good for their price point.

You get what you pay for however their high end boards are top notch. My friend has his 2700k overclocked to 4.8GHz with his ASRock :)

So long as you aren't going to push the CPU to its limits (4.5-4.7GHz OC on SB/IB) something like the Extreme4 is fine. If you want higher clocks (non-haswell) you'll be wanting a higher class board. But that is no different to the Asus LK range or the MSI G41/43 range.

the Asrock extremes are okay as long as your not planning on overclocking too much

After what I've read the lower end boards are not as good, but the high end boards perform well. As for me personally I always recommend Asus boards because I've had great Asus boards in the past - all the way back to the Pentium D days.

have a z77pro3, was cheap, has all the features i need (i don't need many  :P ) and runs my i5 stable @ 4.3ghz and was way cheaper than any msi/asus/gigabyte board

there first mini itx fm2 boards made very good house warmers. apparently they used a revolutionary tech called catching fire which worked exceptionally well for heating an entire house

I don't see them as rubbish anymore but...
when i read new reviews you still hear the occasional mention when they dont recover from a failed overclock and similar things, when they are on a gigabyte/asus level of reviews then sure ill use them just as often.

I like thier new aesthetics with the black and gold both on AMD and intel boards, in fact i want to make a cheap amd build (to try out and evaluate the boards and write a review, then sell on) with a phenom black edition, a black and gold asrock board and gold vengeance ram in a black case, i think itll look awesome and for most consumers im guessing itll get the job done, i dont know anyone that has used all 6 onboard satas so having 5 wont be an issue nor will overclocking...

i like them slightly more than foxcon (cons in the name, but they work for a while), and theyre certainly not bio*******star, there's a company i will never buy from.

Asrock isn't that bad at all... It's just that Asrock doesn't get as much press as Asus, MSI or Gigabyte so people automatically think it's rubbish.

For every customer that has a problem with Asrock there's a customer that has a problem with Asus, MSI, Gigabyte etc...

Running a Asrock z77e-itx motherboard in my build and I haven't had any problems with it. Sure, it's not the Asus ITX board with its ridiculous extra power delivery pcb on the side but it does exactly what I want it to.

Its been great with ASRock Z77 pro4, firstly i wanted to get Extreme 4 but they didn't have it in stock when i was ordering :/. The colour scheme is also grat for the price dark brown/black while all other counterparts Gigabyte/Msi/Asus have weird colors in this price range.

I'd say they are on the same level as Biostar, not very good that is. Could be worse but i wouldn't recommend that you buy an ASRock board.

Most people know ASRock because they used to make very strange boards, such as ones that had both PCI-E and AGP and those were very unrealiable.

Linus clearly says that asrock is number 4 in his manufacture list after asus,msi and gigabyte. And he added that asrock currently catching up to those 3.
