Okay, so I'm seeing an increasing number of people playing, what I see as a low-res, crappy, pointless game... Can somebody PLEASE explain what the hell the point of it is? Its beginning to offend me, like the game has some weird, addictive, hypnotic vibe going on lol

It's just a lot of fun, and it's incredibly easy to mod.  Just try it out, I guarantee you will like it.

Kids like it, easy to play and run also it has very good multiplayer options.

Parents think it is nice too.

And a lot of mods which don't really affect performance.

started playing this game back in late 2011 before the MASSIVE freaking hype. your only now seeing it grow?

 

its about being able to create whatever you want. extreme legos. It bothers me when people call it pointless, yet games like BF4 and COD are fine? wut. 

 

I dont actually play minecraft anymore. Havent in years. but with HD texture packs, it looks amazing. the defult game cant have them, because it runs on java because it started just as a small project, and was never expected to take off. it was just a tech demo that grew.

Its fun because it requires skill and knowledge(of the game). The survival nature of the game gives it a unique feel and reaching "The End" legitimately is actually pretty hard. Mods are also pretty fun to, I have been playing Feed The Beast for the past month.

To topic. The fun part is multiplayer. Singleplayer is very boring. So what hype? It's a relaxing game, that's all.

Don't get me wrong, I've heard of it before, I'm not trolling and I wouldn't say I'm dumb just because I don't get a game that I've never played, in standard form looks graphically crap compared to games from the same era, and I've only really started noticing it because I've just started playing my PS3 again and loads of my friends are on it...

Complete sandbox game, easy to mod, fun with friends, unique game

I thought the same, but building w/e u want and gathering resources with friends has its magic

Try it and u will see.

Its crappy graphics are for a reason: any machine can run it. With high res texture packs it looks somewhat acceptable.

And game is old as hell and received no official visual updates for too many years, only content got uodated.

Thanks to YouTube game made a billion if I'm not mistaking. Kids love it.
