To claim that a big bang is the origin of the universe is a grave misunderstanding of cosmology sir, the big bang describes an effect of the creation of the universe, not a cause. The causation of this universe is still up for grabs, and currently the only theory that provides an answer to this is theism. Furthermore, recent archeological findings point to the Bible, our holy book, as being accurate to it's timing, as we have compared customs, culture, and even currency. I must say that your blind faith is rather crude, and I do not appreciate you attacking my girlfriend like you are. I give you two choices: leave now, or ignore my warning and face reporting for: christophobia and bigotry. I can and WILL bring this issue to mod's attention.

By the way, you should be familiar with the concept of burden of proof, you're making the the positive claim so you have to provide the evidence, i have never said that there is no deity out there, i merely said that the possibility is so small that i can just dismiss and ignore it. I find it hard to dedicate time in my life to praising an entity we have no proof of existence for. I get it, people like something to believe in, but I tend to believe things happen for logical reasons.

 

But then what's depressing is that science changes to much when we discover new things that in fifty years, we might see everything completely different. It's like we may never truly know how things work, and maybe we shouldn't.

 

EDIT - what I do hate is when people take a book written by who knows, and think it can dictate society and law. Let me shred the golden line "God hates homosexuality!" that so many right-wingers love to pull out of their archaic asses.

For me personally, the beauty of science is that every discovery leads to another question (directly or indirectly). 

 

The difference between theism and science is that the questions science poses are a lot of the time answered, leading to further questions.  It is progressive.  Religion does not suffer from the same progression.
