Who thought Todays Video Build log was kinda......

I personally thought todays video was kinda bla compared to some of the previous build logs 

Linus and Luke had a whole computer to talk about and they just focused on the sponsor whose funding the build.

they didn't talk about any of the items on the desk besides the case and "some of the parts in it"

does anyone else agree?

I just felt the whole PBJ scene had almost nothing to do with the rest of the vid.

Ya it was a bit off and kinda creepy but that part was ok 

It just felt like the whole focus was WD WD WD WD oh and this computer that comes with it

I enjoyed it, I guess they didnt even have to make a video on it, they were doing somebody elses build and donated it to charity, I guess they figured showing us would be interesting

 

I assume they didnt have time to do a full build log, and probably didnt want to, since I doubt they would have picked the parts that were sent (like the corsair headset etc)

 

the skit at the beginning was amazing

Exactly. It wasnt a build log. it was more just a video to show the config someone did, and how it will help the school. I personally liked it, to see they are doing more than just making fun videos people will like. The only problem i have with it is the title. because it was not a build log. other than that, it was cool

I agree.

As a build log it fell short but as the whole picture it is a nice thing that they did.

Also I did like the pp&j skit, but it was a little awkward to watch.

it was amazing how seeing how much time the process really takes, from filming to release. it was like 4ish weeks ago on the wan show, they were covered in peanutjelly

The PBJ scene was disturbing, and I didn't feel they really talked about the build, but the storage. Hell, they didn't even mention they were configuring the drives in raid 1 (it showed it on screen)

muh specs 

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it. 

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff. 

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

Seriously!!  What's up with Linus and Luke constant homosexual innuendos.  It's not funny anymore, nor cute. I know they're both very comfortable with their sexuality, but enough is enough.

 

I don't even consider this a build log.

I loved the first part, but IMO the build is overkill for a school

The WD greens would be the biggest bottleneck in the system 

A 4790K and GTX 970 would have been plenty

So can I sub back now. Is the whole ces spam over? Or did the buildlog only came to spare some time? Really, couldn't see my other subs for all the 2 minutes ces video spam  :( They should put that in one video next time.
