I believe they both sound very different, so it would depend on what you're looking to get out of them. What do you use them for?

I think the beyrs are considered to have a less "coloured" sound

Bleigh!  Ever hear of AC series?

I think the dt880s dont have too much bass, but someone could confirm that for me, as  I haven't tried a pair.

The Sennhisers would certainly have more prominent base. bare in mind the Beyers are an open design. So perhaps if you like to listen with them in public it could be a problem.

Consider hifiman he-400 + monoprice amp/dac. They will cost you $350-400, same price as momentum and the he-400 is really good in terms of bass

I'm only planning to use them in my home.

Then I would recommend the momentums, they only have and 18 ohm impedance, so they are easy for any mobile device to drive. I have a set of the V1's.

The 880s have very solid, but unhyped bass. In my opinion they are not quite appropriate for bassheads or music that expects to be reproduced with emphasized bass.

I don't think they are a good choice in this case.
