So some crazy Koreans are making a game. Its a pretty game, boob sliders.

 

So what we know so far is that this game has one if not the best customisation systems ever.

 

We also know that they are trying to throw it on the ps4, not the xbox one because its american.

 

Its more action hack and slash based, they said that they are trying to get a contract with koei-tecmo to use some of the systems within dynasty warriors

The game will only come to Korea at first but and this is big but we have seen games like this in the past and games that have caused this amount of hype have either been translated or given to the western community which makes sense as there are a lot of us which play these types of games. 

 

At the moment the game has been translated reasonably well by the community but there is the minor massive issue of the ping because the servers are pretty far away.

 

This game is sandbox based, there will be massive maps, many enemies and it will all look pretty nice.

 

They have also said that this game will strictly not be a pay to win game.

man i was all hyped when i read the title because i thought you meant it was coming in now and not only in korea (most of the time you need a korean social security number to play).

It's the first Korean MMO I've ever seen that has a compelling-looking world, all the others like TERA or Lineage or Archeage etc. all lather on way too much colour and childish themes. This one actually looks more western when it comes to world.

 

It calls itself a sandbox, but I highly doubt it.

 

The characters and animations are the only downside to the game, but they're still better than most Korean MMOs which also get way too over the top.

 

And be prepared for repetitive combat. Just saying. Instead of a real combat system with weight and impact they've gone for the "death of a thousand cuts" spammy-spam-spam design direction. So unless the actual content is good, it's going to be a drag to play.

hack n slash is repetitive, its always been like that however that doesnt really bother me, im a massive fan of hack n slash games. I think this type of mmo has grown a lot in the recent years. A lot more mmos are using it which i find surprising. I love hack n slash but i thought it only catered for a small audience.

Hack n slash doesn't have to be repetitive if the speed is toned down, at least sometimes. Variation is the spice of life, and many hack n slash games have enough varied attacks to make things interesting. It's just every example of combat I've seen from this game has been very one-trick pony and way too fast, the hits don't feel like they connect like they should, and each attack looks like a light slap on the cheek in terms of effect.

 

But I guess it will depend on how you set up your character. I just hope there's a way to play as a big impact hitter rather than one of the needle cannons I've seen so far.

Game looks decent. Hopefully it is balanced like a Korean MMO rather than these stupid casual MMOs we keep seeing like Destiny or all of those free-to-play ones.

Every decent looking MMO just becomes some casual F2P shit. Blizzard almost made WoW some F2P shit then the subs dropped and now we actually have an expansion with difficult content. That being said, Siege of Ogrimmar was a fairly challenging raid with some boss fights that threw up a challenge.

well im not a massive mmo guy, if this came out here id probably play it for a few hours, in reality ill just get hyped when someone rips all the armors into skyrim

All i can do for them excited kids is tell you to hold your excitement horses lol,what makes or breaks a mmo is gameplay/gearbuild/pvp/social interaction(very important part) and the most important thing you are going to do is combat,so far the best combat experience mmorpg is in vindictus,korean mad game,but it has other flaws.

I havent seen anything that exciting about black desert,its great graphics but other than that nothing great,just a posibility for decent combat system like vindictus,anything else is inferior to vindictus,even single player RPG, dragon age/skyrim trash rpg wannabes.

Uh, The Secret World never had a hype train. (Well it did, but mostly with mature gamers, all the kids were hyped about Guild Wars 2, which was going to come out almost at the same time)

 

Besides, The Secret World is the best damn MMORPG ever for its target demographic, so no complaints there. But comparing any part about it to a Korean hack and slash grinder makes me think you are somewhat loopy.

I don't know man, looks gorgeous but gameplay seems meh. Movements are choppy.

 

As surprising as it sounds, Maplestory was truly the greatest MMORPG of it's time, it pretty much nailed everything on the head; pleasing on the eyes, "casual", ease of forming communities, really fun and had hardcore end game content, lots of character in it's styled simplistic art choice.

Even today you can see something and tell that it was from Maplestory. Will Maplestory 2 have the same success? Only time will tell.

 

But as with all Korean MMORPGs, they seem to tread into the pay2win department within months... not something i look for in a game. If only something better came along.

The PS4 thing took it away from me, we want PC games made for the PC, so we can have all the mechanics, interaction, environment and graphics without worrying about the performance hit and not well designed/implemented UI and camera elements. With good optimization and resource management.
