Who has the most overkill setups for the intended use?

asim1999

People who buy Macbook Pro's and Alienware laptops and use them as Facebook machines make me want to punch things.

You have a 5.1GHz 3770k and a 212 Evo for cooling? F**king bulls**t! xD

Task manager. That's actually 4.0GHz.

I have a 6GHz 3570K to windows.

for example: running 4 980s in quad-sli for 1080p gaming. people might say my rig is overkill, but i need a solid productivity machine as i am doing computer studies for GCSE and A-level and want to pursue this as a career.

so, who here has the most overkill rig for their use?

ha this is funny. you wouldn't even need that rig for a computer science degree.

That rig has the recommended specs from ubisoft to get a min and max of 30fps

I have dual 290X DC2OC paired with an 8350. Got them for mining. Don't any more as the difficulty sky-rocketed. Now I just use them for gaming on a 1080p monitor which is not only overkill but unusable. 8350 holds back dual 290X's, a lot.

290 crossfire for 1080p gaming... I absolutely hate framerates dropping below 60 at max settings, especially on a 32'' screen where its more noticable.

I have a case that's 75 cm tall and has 8 120mm fans and it just holds an APU.

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

You would be surprised but it does take a little power, when i had my 650 it couldn't keep 50fps

I aced the GSCE O level computer studies and im pursuing a diploma now. My GPA is 3.58.

Its actually not that bad. The subject that people fall behind the most on is Enterprise Information Systems and Programming. Programming is that sort of thing where if you lack the fundamentals, everything is fucked up. EIS is sort of like the business aspect of IT, and its pretty meaty. Discreet math is okay if you put in effort.

And by the way, I use a macbook with jgrasp for programming. So no, you don't need any sort of powerful rig unless you're like taking CAD stuff.
