Who has the most overkill setups for the intended use?

Get a 144hz g-sync monitor then then FPS will be justified 

EDIT: see that u have one, then it isnt overkill, get g-sync to balance out the FPS

Meh. I don't think g-sync is worth bothering at 144hz. Hell, you can do v-sync with no noticeable lag 9 out of 10 games. Frame tearing just isn't very noticeable when your refresh rate is over twice that of a typical 60hz monitor.

 

I'll usually just v-sync at 150-200 fps if it doesn't automatically do it at 144hz, if I bother at all.

144hz is wonderful though. I was worried I wouldn't notice a difference since I jumped into it blind. I'm glad I went this way than a 1440p monitor.

Quick thoughts on system: I7 is extremely quick and I'm glad I spent the extra for hyper-threading. I regret my decision to get the GTX 970, it has horrible coil whine. There isn't any excuse for this terrible whine I and others are having. I HIGHLY recommend a 144hz monitor. Future Improvements/upgrades: Rubber fan mounts, basic speakers, more ram (for a total of 16gb), replace GPU.

144hz is love. 144hz is life. I like to submit unfinished posts then do about 20 edits. I like the Night Theme too.

Overkill clean. And I mainly use my secondary monitor for tools (GIMP, SketchUp, video preview for Vegas) and Afterburner, as well as Steam and the like.
